CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION
FOR THE ROYAL PREMIER GOLF LEAGUE (KGPL) 2020

DEFINITIONS

KGPL Game: A KGPL game is played between two KGPL teams.

Match: A match is played between the Playing Pairs of Opposing teams

KGPL Game Points: KGPL game points are earned when a KGPL team beats another KGPL team. Winning team gets 3 points, Tied Match is 1 point for both teams and a Losing Team get given 0 points.

Match Points: Match Points are earned when a Playing Pair beats a Opposing Playing Pair. A win is 1(one) Match point and a loss is 0 (zero) Match points.

Net Difference: Net Difference is the difference in the Match Points in a particular KGPL game.

PRIVACY POLICY

We collect but do not link personal and activity data . We use technologies like cookies (small files stored by your browser), web beacons, or unique device identifiers to anonymously identify your computer or device so we can deliver a better experience. Our systems also log information like your browser, operating system and IP address. We also may collect personally identifiable information that you provide to us, such as your name, address, phone number or email address. With your permission, we may also access other personal information on your device, such as your phone book, calendar or messages, in order to provide services to you. If authorized by you, we may also access profile and other information from services like Facebook. Our systems are not designed to associate personal information with your activities (such as pages you view or things you click on or search for). We do not knowingly contact or collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly obtain parental consent or remove the information.



We save your scores as inputs in the app By logging in and inputting scores, we consider the user's consent to uploading their scores to a global leaderboard. You can sign into your account to see any personally identifiable information we have stored, such as your name, address, email or phone number or scores. You can also contact us by email to request to see or delete this information. info@forcepower.in We do not share personally identifiable information (such as name, address, email or phone, scores) with other companies, only use if for the tournamnet for better leaderboard and scoring analytics.

REPRESENTED AUTHORITY

Each player will be nominated by the authorized Team owner and no player may feature in more than one team.

ELIGIBILITY OF PLAYER

1. A member of the Royal Calcutta Golf Club, a dependent of such members and members on privileges of RCGC and Reciprocal Members from Tollygunge Club.

2. Only members who have valid RCGC/Tollygunge Club handicaps will be permitted to participate.

3. An amateur golfer in accordance with the Rules of Amateur Status or Rule 9-2E as provided by R&A Rules Limited.

Exception: Members, who are teaching professionals and have not participated in any Professional Event for last one year (Playing for Prize Money) are also eligible.

FORMAT

  • 4 Ball Better Ball, Match Play
  • The stipulated round will be an 18-hole match play.
  • The Tournament will be played initially in a league format, which will comprise of 27 teams divided in 3 groups of 9 teams each.
  • In each team first 9 players will be nominated by the owners and the balance players will be chosen from the pool.
  • 6 pairs of each team will play a match.
  • It's mandatory that each player plays at least 1 match by the end of the league stage or the erring team will be penalized 2 KGPL Game points per breach from their leaderboard tally.
  • First there will be the League / Round Robin Stage. Each team will play all the other teams in their Group in this stage. After this there will the Knockout and the format of that will be intimated in due course.

HANDICAP

  • For the purpose of the tournament, the lowest declared board handicap from April 2019 upto the end of the tournament will be hereafter referred to as the 'KGPL Handicap'.
  • Golfers will be allowed the full difference of strokes of their handicap from the back marker in the 4 ball upto a maximum limit of 18 strokes.
  • Maximum Handicap allowed for Gents will be 24 (of the white tees) and for Ladies will be 30. A player with a higher handicap will have to play of the maximum limit handicap as stated.
  • The Tournament Committee reserves to right to revise handicap of any player at any point of the tournament.

TEES

White Tees: All Male players above the age of 11 on 1st January 2020 will play from the White Tees as per their KGPL Handicap.

Yellow Tees: Male Members who are above the age of 60 as of 1st January 2020 can exercise the option to play of the Yellow Tees. However, this option, if exercised, has to be informed before the Tournament and cannot be changed in the course of the entire Tournament. For the Members who choose to play if the Yellow Tees, their KGPL Handicap will be adjusted as per the following:

Formula: (Individual Handicap Index X Slope Rating from the particular tee)/113

For Example:
Handicap Index: 15.0 – Course Handicap for White Tee will be 18 (15.0 x 133/113)
Handicap Index: 15.0 – Course Handicap for Yellow Tee will be 16 (15.0 x 124/113)
LESS difference between the Course ratings of the White Tee (73.7) and Yellow Tee (69.4) -> (16-4) = 12

Red Tees: All Female Members and Children below the age of 11 as of 1st January 2020 will play of the Red Tees. As the Female competitors play off the Red Tee are competing against a Males playing from the White / Yellow Tees, the course handicap will be adjusted upwards by ADDING the difference in the Course Ratings between the Red tee and the White tee.

For Example:
Handicap Index: 15.0 – Course Handicap for Red Tee will be 17 (15.0 x 131/113)
ADD difference between the Course ratings of the White Tee (73.7) and Red Tee (74.2) -> (17+1) = 18

TIME OF REGISTRATION & START

Registration of Teams
The Team Owner / Captain / Representative must Submit their Playing Team with the respective Pairs and Tees, at least 30 minutes before the start of their First Match on the Playing Day. This can be done by uploading on the APP or by physical submission.
If any team fails to do upload / submit their details of the team in time, they shall be penalized as under:

Late Submission between 30-15 minutes before the scheduled tee off time - Loss of first hole for all 6 pairs

Non submission within 14-0 minutes before scheduled tee off - Loss of the match.

Representation of Side - A side may be represented by one partner for all or any part of the match. An absent partner may join a match between holes but not during play of a hole

Start of Play (Rule 5.3A)
The Player(s) representing a side must be on the Tee atleast 5 minutes before their Tee Off time.
If a playing side, is not available within 5 minutes after their scheduled Tee Off time, the absent side will be penalized for failure to start in time with a loss of the First Hole. Penalty for being late beyond 5 minutes will be disqualification for the absent side.

DRESS CODE

Teams are required to wear the sponsors logo on their T-Shirts as notified by the Committee and continue to wear the same through the match. Players not wearing the sponsors logo tee shirt will not be allowed to tee off or will be disqualified from the match.

Under very special circumstances, committee will have the right to waive/modify this condition.

TEAM SELECTION

A player selected from the pool cannot refuse to join a team. If he refuses to join the team, he will not be allowed to participate in the tournament and may be debarred from future events. The team will be allowed to choose a substitute player from the pool.

It is expected off each player from the Pool that he is available for at least 3 League games of his team.

SUBSTITUTES

No alteration may be made to the team once the team players composition list has been issued by the Tournament Committee.

Exception: Should a nominated player be unable to play for reasons of accident, illness or other reasonable cause, substitution may be made subject to KGPL Tournament Committee approval..

ADVICE (Rule 24.4)

Besides the Player and his Caddy or his partner and the partner's caddy, no other person can advise any player during the Course of the round.

Penalty for Breach of Condition: Loss of Hole

TRANSPORTATION

Players must not ride on any form of transportation (Golf Carts) during a stipulated round, unless authorized by the committee.
The KGPL committee authorizes each team to use maximum of 3 (three) golf carts during the match. The team owner/ captain may allocate them to any player / players of his team. A cart must not be shared by more than two players.
Cadies and Golf Bags will not be allowed on the Golf Cart. Carts are assigned to a pair for the stipulated round and cannot be re assigned to another pair midway through the round

Penalty for breach of condition:
At the conclusion of the hole at which the breach is discovered, the state of the match is adjusted by loss of a hole for each hole at which a breach occurred. Maximum deduction per round – loss of 2 holes.
The club rules governing use of carts must be followed.

SUSPENSION OF PLAY (Rule 5.7)

In case of bad weather / light, the referees on the course will decide to call off the play and their decision in this regard shall be final.
In the league stage, the match shall be considered played if a minimum of 9 holes have been completed by all the six pairs. The score at the time of calling off the matches will stand as the result.
In the knock out stage, the matches not completed will have to be replayed. If a player is not available, he may be replaced by anyone who had not played in the match.

SCORING & RESULT OF THE MATCHES

  • Scores of the KGPL rounds will not be used for Handicapping purposes.
  • One Player from each side will have to upload the result on the APP after each hole. The result to be entered will have to be in the form of Win / Loss or Draw only.
  • In the interest of Pace of Play, Players are requested to pick up their ball if they believe that they are not in contention of Winning or Drawing the hole.

For the League / Round Robin Stages, the KGPL Game Points at the end of each Game will be allocated as under:

Winning Team 3 (three) KGPL Game points
Match Tied 1 (one) KGPL Game point each team
Losing Team 0 (zero) KGPL Game Points

In the knockout stage of the Competition, If the teams are tied after the completion of the KGPL Game, the team captain will nominate two players from the team that has played that day to play a three-hole playoff. In case, there is no result after the conclusion of the three holes, the playoff will continue till one of the teams win (sudden death).

Difference of handicap will be applicable from the first playoff hole. The nominated holes for playoff are the 1st, 2nd. and 3rd. The sudden death is from the 4th hole onwards.

If for any reason, such as bad weather / bad light, the play off cannot be completed on the day of competition, the play off will be abandoned and resumed on another day as determined by the Tournament Committee.


The Tournament Committee's decision in this regard shall be final

At the end of the league stage, if there is a tie for position between two or more teams in the KGPL Game Points, the tie will be decided in the following order:

  • Net Difference of Match Points
  • Head to Head result on their KGPL Game
  • 18-hole play-off by one pair from the tied Teams. If there is still a tie, the result will be decided by sudden death.

The result of a match will be considered "officially announced" as soon as the players inform the organizer/enter the result in the draw sheet.

DISQUALIFICATION

A penalty of disqualification for a breach of the Rules or the Conditions of Competition applies only to the stipulated round in which the breach occurred unless otherwise determined by the Committee.

SCHEDULE OF COMPETITION

The Tournament will be played over January/February/March 2020 and maybe extended, If necessary.

Matches will be played on Friday/Saturday/Sunday and public holidays

Rescheduling may be considered subject to the following process being followed:

  • The team requiring the rescheduling must first approach the opponent and get their consent
  • After that, the team must write to the Tournament Committee for approval of the rescheduling.
  • The rescheduled match has to be played on the following weekday before Friday.
  • The Tournament Committee will then approve subject to availability of time.

Note: No Matches will be scheduled for a Sunday or Public Holiday

COMPETITION CANCELLED OR ALTERED

The Committee reserves the right to reduce or cancel any stipulated round, suspend or postpone play, cancel the competition or come to an equitable decision to achieve a result.

REFEREES (Rule 20)

The Committee has appointed Ms. Vandana Agarwal as a Referee. Should a claim be made or should a referee desire clarification before a decision is made, the Referee, at his sole discretion, may consult the Tournament Committee, after which the referee will give his decision and such decision is final. Please note that any misbehavior or non-adherence to the Referee will be treated as gross misconduct and will be dealt severely under the RCGC Code of Conduct Policy and the Standards of Player Conduct (Rule 1.2)

DISCLAIMER

All nominated team players agree that there are certain risks inherent in the game of golf and accept personal and sole liability for all such risks

PACE OF POLICY (Rule 5.6)

RCGC has adopted a Pace of Play Policy as a Local Rule. See separate document for detailed RCGC Pace of Play Policy.

In all the KGPL matches, there will no Refreshment breaks either at the end of the 9th Hole or at the end of the 18th Hole. The Refreshment and food breaks will be made available at the end of the 1st Hole and at the end of the 12th Hole.

STANDARDS OF PLAYER CONDUCT (Rule 1.2)

LOCAL RULES

The Local Rules, together with the Additional Local Rules (ALR's) of the Royal Calcutta Golf Club, will apply
